Lightning on Mobile - Customer Pilot

Upgrade to the new experience today! Simply go to Setup and follow the “New Salesforce Mobile app QuickStart” steps and upgrade to the 222.0 version of the app on the App Store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/salesforce/id404249815) and Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.salesforce.chatter&hl=en_US

I'm seeing an issue with the Related Record component on a Lightning Record Page. Right now after linking a new contact, an "Import from Device" option is presented.

After clicking the "Import from Device" and selecting one of my device contacts, the view on the Record page is updated to reflect my device contact selection but these changes are not saved to the Salesforce Contact. If I click "View" from the Related Record component, I can confirm that my device contact details are not saved to that Salesforce Contact.

The desktop behavior is that changes made on the Related Record component are automatically saved to the Contact. Appears to not have parity in this "Import from Device" situation.

Currently it looks like you're only able to "View" or "Remove" so maybe there isn't intended to have parity between Desktop & Phone, but if so the "Import from Device" feature should be removed.

Any answer to this?  I get the same issue - Import From Device doesn't save the data that I have imported from my mobile device to the account record I want to associate it to.

I'd like to "expand" a Lightning component in Mobile experience to fill the viewport with a custom actions drawer just like the CRM Analytics Dashboard does: it has the "Back" button, the three does "more" button in header, a custom Actions drawer which uses native iOS UI, and in the lens view a docked actions bar at the bottom (see attached screenshots).

The CRM Analytics Dashboard component in a Tab on an App page, viewed in the Salesforce Mobile app:How can I navigate to a custom component view in Salesforce Mobile experience?

Clicking on the three dots button reveals the actions drawer:Simulator Screenshot - iPhone SE (2nd generation) - 2023-11-22 at 19.03.47.png

A custom docked actions bar at the bottom of the Lens view with different buttons in header:Simulator Screenshot - iPhone SE (2nd generation) - 2023-11-22 at 19.03.56.png

Lens actions drawer (clicked on the three dots button).

I'd like to understand what sort of undocumented APIs does this Lightning component use and how can we leverage them in our own custom components?

    Hi @Suprabha Adepu,

There are 2 ways you can handle EDIT button.

    1. You can handle it from the Layout page.

    2. Edit button will be visible based on the permissions for the user profile.

Try handling for a user via a permission set to grant edit access.

    Hope it helps.

Please mark it as best answer if it resolves your issue.

!!! Activity Reminders Pilot Now Open !!!

Mobile activity reminders help your reps stay on time and on task while they’re on the go. Now event and task reminders are available as in-app and push notifications for the Salesforce mobile app. Previously, task and event reminders were available only for desktop. You don’t have to use desktop activity reminders to use mobile activity reminders.

To use mobile activity reminders, fill out this form:

Hello! @Laura Woods @Angela Potter @Tyrone Green We are also interested to sign up for the pilot! To send mobile notifications for task reminders is heavily request by our users.

Is there an update regarding the outcome of the pilot? Maybe even an ETA of the rollout?

Not sure this is the best group but couldn't find any other. Is there any roadmap on when LWC Quick Actions will be part of the mobile app ?

When can we expect Lightning on tablet: full-width (which is currently a Beta feature) to be rolled out completely?

Currently we are testing the full width tablet view beta on our sandbox environment with multiple iPads. When testing on a 5th generation iPad the view is completely different from other machines we tested on. For reference, we tested on an iPad pro with IOS version of 14.7.1 and saw the expected view. However when viewing on an iPad 5th generation 9.7 inch screen 15.0.1, the view is incorrect and does not match our current configuration set up for mobile. I've tested on a few users and all see the same view regardless of profile assignment.

What is influencing the view on the 5th Gen iPad version and why is it displaying so differently from the iPad Pro?

    Hi Luke,

I'm the product manager for our tablet app experiences.  The behavior you describe is odd and not intentional.  I've reached out to you directly so that we can connect and dig into the issue.  Also, I can't see the images that you attached here, maybe try again?

    Thanks,

    ~Ron

Has anyone successfully see Mobile Home? I am able to see and add in the App Manager, but it does not appear in my mobile app. I am testing this in a sandbox and my Salesforce mobile app version 232.060 on iOS
