Conga

The Conga® Suite is a powerful set of applications designed for fast, flexible and accurate utilization of Salesforce data. These products streamline the creation and distribution of Salesforce reports, customized presentations and documents in multiple file formats for unlimited use cases across all organizations and industries.

I as Admin am still able to run the Conga button solution, but my user gets the "Authorizing" page in Conga and it never moves on from there. I installed the Conga Auth as connected app as permission but still the same issue. Anyone else run into this?

    Thank you, Divya, for the very detailed answer. I'll try these steps. Hopefully we will be getting rid of Conga this year, it is such a headache.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to create a layout in Excel where the first row appears as a single column (like a header), and the next row has two separate columns beneath it. But I'm not able to achieve the desired output layout. I have attached the example of layouts for reference.

Need this as output layout:   Group by Contact Name field.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hi,

I am new to Conga. I created a Conga template that uses a custom Word template that I created with several merge fields. I tested it as System Administrator profile and it works perfectly. But when I was testing with a different profile, I get an error that says The following template Id/s do not exist or are not accessible and will be omitted: <template ID>.

Conga Composer connected app is enabled for the profile, I've ensured read access is available for all Conga objects and relevant objects and has API Enabled permission. I am not sure what I am missing.

I am new to salesforce / conga, so apologies if I use incorrect terminology.

I am attempting update a conga template by adding some extra merge fields that utilize Conga queries and the Conga solution UI to automatically fill in some values. My problem is that when I generate the document using a custom action button on one of our record pages, the merge fields I just added are not filing in, so it leaves a blank space where the values should be. There are other merge fields on the document that work correctly, its just the new ones I tried adding that are not populating on the generated document.

Here is the conga button I'm using (some Ids and names have been changed for privacy):

/apex/APXTConga4__Conga_Composer?SolMgr=1&serverUrl={!API.Partner_Server_URL_520}&Id={!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id}&QueryId=[PurchaseProject]0Q_XXXXXXXXXXXX,[SSA]0Q_XXXXXXXXXXXX%3Fpv0%3D{!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id}~pv1%3DContract,[InitialPayment]0Q_XXXXXXXXXXXX%3Fpv0%3D{!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id},[FinalPayment]0Q_XXXXXXXXXXXX%3Fpv0%3D{!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id},[SecondPayment]0Q_XXXXXXXXXXXX%3Fpv0%3D{!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id}&TemplateId=0T_117UAM183313&SC0=1&SC1=SalesforceFile&OFN=Contract_{!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Name}&RM=1&datatagenable=1&DS7=11

And here is the query:

SELECT SCMC__Unit_Cost__c FROM SCMC__Purchase_Order_Line_Item__c WHERE SCMC__Purchase_Order__c = '{pv0}' AND SCMC__Line_Number__c = '1' LIMIT 1

And in the Conga solution UI, I added pv0 = {!SCMC__Purchase_Order__c.Id}

Finally, in my conga template, I'm trying to access the value of that query with this syntax but nothing ends up showing when I generate the document:

{{InitialPayment.SCMC__Unit_Cost__c}}

Did I set something up wrong or am I using the incorrect syntax, etc? Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, another issue I'm having is I'm trying to use a merge field to access a field on the Master object (Master object type is 'SCMC__Purchase_Order__c' using this syntax:

{{Master.SCMC__Total_Value_of_PO__c}}

But again, this value is not populating when I generate the doc.

And as a general note, I know for a fact that these values do exist on the relevant objects. I have the record pulled up and am looking at the fields and the corresponding values.

    check the conga quiries, normally when this used to happen I open it in the conga composer and make sure that I can see the fields there and just copy and paste

    If you already have Adobe Sign, I would personally use the Adobe Document Builder for Salesforce instead of Conga Composer. It's much easier to use (in my opinion) and is included in the cost of the Adobe Sign.

When I try to insert a clause in x author this error appears!

Clause Error in X Author

I had tried to change the clause but the organization does not have the updated conga resources. So I tried to do it manually.

Changing the file that is inserted in this tab.

But after that the error appeared. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Hi, I am a Conga Composer user and have inquired them today about an issue following their latest release, which is no longer taking care of the sorting order of Opp Line Items as indicated in the Conga Query connected to our (many) opportunity templates.

They are excluding any issue on their end, and say that probably Salesforce changed something in the way it deals with Queries...

I am puzzled about this answer, and I want to check if anybody has the same or similar issue, or can confirm about any change that was done in Salesforce probably affecting this issue.

In our Query, the standard Pos field is indicated to sort the lines in ascendent order. Now, the query only uses Product description to sort the items alphabetically. We have no custom query in Salesforce.

Would be glad if anybody can help me understanding this issue. Thank you!

    For anyone getting this, double check you have "ORDER BY SORTORDER ASC" at the end of the query relating to line items. I just had a revamped query and sort order stopped working, I cross referenced with older sandbox and found this was missing...

I'm trying to apply some additional parameters to filter down our list of templates to choose from when creating a contract, and am struggling to get the TNC (Template Name Contains) parameter to work.  Has anyone used this successfull that can share an example of the syntax you used so I can see if I'm using it correctly?  Conga Documentation doesn't include an example for this parameter unfortunately.

    Using the TNC parameter I did not, but what I ended up doing is adding a field to the Conga Templates object where I could catagorize the templates and then added the following line to my button parameters:

    &TemplateGroup={!IF(Opportunity.Conga_User_Role__c="Corporate","Sales,Marketing,Admin",Opportunity.Conga_User_Role__c)}

    This way the templates designated for a single team are all that appear for users under than team role.

    Hope this helps

Is it possible to join Queries on Conga? I'm testing out different reporting solutions and want to know if Conga will meet my needs.

Lets say I want to run a series of queries that with the final result being:  Give me all Accounts that have bought a specific line of products in the past 5 years, and who do not have open cases.

My idea is to run something like:

Query 1 - Select AccountID from Case where Status = 'Open'

Query 2 - Select AccountID *and other fields* from Opportunity where Product_Line__c = 'Product Line' and AccountID not in Query 1.

Ideally I'd like to pull in another custom object related to Accounts. So something like:

Query 1 - Select AccountID from Case where Status = 'Open'

Query 2 - Select AccountID *and other fields* from Opportunity where Product_Line__c = 'Product Line' and AccountID not in 'Query 1'

Query 3 - Select AccountID *and other fields* from Custom_Object__c where AccountID in 'Query 2'

I can build all the individual queries in Conga. Where I'm running into trouble is the combining them part. I know you can do "pv0= AccountID". Will something like this work [Select ... Where AccountID Not in {Query 1 Alias}]?
