Hi everyone,

I’m trying to delete a Retriever in Salesforce Data Cloud, but I’m getting an error message similar to:

“This retriever cannot be deleted because it is being referenced. Please delete or disable the referencing resources before deleting this retriever.”

(The above message is translated from Japanese, so the exact English message in Salesforce may differ.)

The issue is that I can’t figure out what is actually referencing this Retriever. I’ve checked the configurations I’m aware of, but nothing seems to be linked to it.

Is there any way to see all dependencies, or a tool/page in Data Cloud where I can check which objects or resources are referencing a Retriever?

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

That message means the Retriever is still tied to another Data Cloud resource, usually a Query, Segment, or Activation target that calls it. Salesforce Help notes that Retrievers can’t be deleted while they’re referenced in any computation or orchestration component.
