Hello,

I'm trying to create a Tableau Server cluster, currently running one but going to add 6 nodes on 6 different VMs to it.

From documentation, a tsm restart/server restart is required to attach each node to the main node after installing.

My question is, can I install all 6 nodes first, then restart the server, apply changes etc.. to only do a server restart once at the end of the installation, rather than restarting the server everytime a node is added ?

Any experiences, ideas and thoughts on it ?

Thank you!

@Bobo Oo , Usually it needs around 2 to 3 restarts, 1 for adding all the nodes and applying the pending changes. and other is for adding the co-ordination services on all the nodes and last for configuring the topology of all the added nodes which requires a restart.

Each restart time depends on the no of services present on the Tableau server and the Hardware configuration of your Tableau server hosted machines.

    Thanks,
