Hi, I am new to tableau. Its server version 2020. We are trying to investigate performance issue noticed by our users those using tableu UI/dashboards in production. The tableau here is not directly querying the datawarehouse rather , its fetching data from hyper database which in turns refreshed in certain frequency from the datawarehouse. The tableau users , facing the slowness , in which the tabs in the UI is taking 2-3 minutes to load, but this is happening intermittently. Those same tabs are loading in 4-5 seconds most of the time , but they are facing the load time increases to 2-3 minutes occasionally and not able to tie that to any such load pattern.

So my question was how should we debug the performance issue in such situation? Will performance recording help us in such situation, also another issue is that as it happens intermittently so we are not sure of the timing when its going to occur, so how should we approach this issue? Should we need to see the underlying server memory/cpu stats? Or is there any other tracing possible?

Above is the performance recording of one sample time. Its showing

Above is the performance recording of one sample time. Its showing "Compile Query" at top. How should we approach to make this better?

Additionally in other performance recording we see ~6seconds is spent in "Connecting to datasource", what should be the next step to fix such performance issues?
