Hi There,
I’m querying activity-log data through the TCM API for our Tableau Cloud sandbox site in us-east-1, but I’m not receiving any " hist_access_view " events—even though users are accessing reports.
I’m also trying to retrieve only site-related event types. Could this filtering affect whether those events are returned, or is there a known issue with activity logs for this region?
Thanks,
Raju

Hi @raju Prasad,
Filtering by site event types should not hide hist_access_view events. These are the most likely causes:
- Wrong endpoint. Tenant events use a GET on /tenants/{tenantId}/activitylog, and site events use a POST on /tenants/{tenantId}/sites/{siteId}/activitylog with a request body. Site event types sent to the tenant endpoint return nothing. tableau
- Event name. Your title says hist_view_access and your message says hist_access_view. The name must match the Site Event Type Reference exactly.
- Date range. Timestamps show when records became available, not when the events happened. Try a wider range. tableau
- License. The default edition updates logs once a day, while Advanced Management, Enterprise and Tableau+ update in under 15 minutes. Please confirm your sandbox site’s license. tableau
Try the request without the event type filter first. If other events appear, the filter or name is the problem. I could not find a known issue for us-east-1.
If it still fails, please share your endpoint, request body (hide any IDs or tokens) and date range.
