Can't Log into TSM with TSM Admin Account

Hello all, 

 

I'm using a CIS L1 Hardened Image of Amazon Linux 3 and installed Tableau Server 2026 on it.  After running the Tableau init script post-install, which makes the default user apart of the TSMAdmin group in the process, I visited the GUI portal to try to activate our license.  Now, the issue is when logging into the portal is I get an Invalid Username or Password error.  When trying the CLI after inputting tsm login -u <adminuser> -p <passwordofadminuser> I get: authentication error. Incorrect username or password, or username not member of administrative group? 

 

I've tried creating a separate account and adding it to the tsmadmin group and tableau group with no luck, same error. 

 

Any ideas to what could be going on?
