We currently load customers in to Salesforce via CSV, these are called X Client that our AE's are targeted to call.

I am creating a report that I want to be able to determine how many of the accounts have had an activity/event logged against them in the last 3 months (to determine that they've been contacted)

For example, Sales Rep A has been allocated 5 accounts, we can see that there are meaningful events/activities against 4 of them

I need to be able to filter it so that only certain activities/events count (for example sending an email doesn't count or a voicemail)

What I've tried so far:

  • Tried to Create a Formula field (Include_In_Rollup) against the Activities Object to exclude certain event types - first issue is that I am unable to have it return a Boolean result to provide YES/NO for the events I want to exclude

  • Tried to create a Roll-Up Summary field (Number_of_Recent_events) on the Account Object to summarise all meaningful events (taking into consideration the Include In Rollup exclusions)  - this would be irrelevant if I cannot remove certain event/activity types

  • Then the plan is to have a Formula field on the account with a check box return that would return YES/Checked if that account has had "Last Activity" in the last 3 months (this would count as a contacted account) - hence I need the above two fields to ensure this works accurately

Any advice on where to go from here? Is there a better way of reporting on this? Any help is appreciated

@Harry Dunn Hi Harry, if you do wind up using a Rollup Summary field there is typically a field filter that may let you filter out certain activity types depending upon where you define if it's an email sent or voicemail
