Our sales users are spending too much time in Outlook manually pushing emails over to necessary OPPORTUNITIES in Salesforce via the add-in for Outlook.

We are looking to implement EAC to hopefully help mitigate this issue - allow Sales users to focus on their communication with clients as opposed to complaining about having to spend time logging emails to opportunities (NOT contacts).

I have read that if we implement EAC, it will help users not have to log the activities manually however not follow the necessary path to the necessary opportunity.

We are in the construction services space, so we bid on multiple opportunities with the same people pretty consistently. For us to adequately track the last touchpoints related to an opportunity, we need this functionality.

Is the best solution for us?

I recall having one issue when I implemented that - users who got personal emails from family, schools etc in urgent situations where they might not be checking personal email and from coworkers were also creating contacts and then email records. I believe we solved it by creating groups or tags in the email account so they could exempt those from flowing to SF. Now this was several years ago so perhaps SF has made improvements.
