When I perform the "SFDX: Authorize an Org" step of the project in VS Code, I get the error Starting SFDX: Authorize an Org

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

To download and install the Salesforce CLI (Command Line Interface) using npm (Node Package Manager)
npm install --global @salesforce/cli
check installed you can run below command
sfdx --version
command display the version of CLI
