Apex/VF Help: Bypass record type selection

Question

Hey guys. I am just getting my feet wet with Apex/VF, but I am in a situation where I need to replace the Account New button with a VF page, to simply bypass Record Type selection. I need to do this ASAP, so the usual 'study, learn, practice' doesn't apply here.

I don't need anything else except literally to take them to "/001/e?retURL=%2F001%2Fo&RecordType=012g00000004xGG&ent=Account" when they click the new button on the Account Home page (on Recent Clients area)

It HAS to be the New button. Every other way to create an account is off save for this one button, and users CANNOT manually select record types - they are all changed on workflows.

Any help would be really appreciated!!

Hi Ramiro , If you want to by pass the record type selection then just change th eprofile setting .It will not ask for record type selection.

Ok, so I figured out why it didn't work for me. 1)  All profiles only had Access to "Draft" status, to bypass Record type selection. 2)  Used a flow via button to change the Record type to "Pending" (tried both with a lookup and hardcoding the ID) 3)  Receive Error:   Encountered unhandled fault when running process Client_Status_to_Pending/301g00000009Erv exception by user/organization: 00Dg0000003Mnuj/{4} Source organization: 00Dj0000000IADy (null) UPSERT --- UPSERT FAILED ---  ERRORS :  (INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY) invalid record type ---  for SFDC record with ID : null,  caused by element : FlowRecordUpdate.set_Record_to_Pending caused by: UPSERT --- UPSERT FAILED ---  ERRORS :  (INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_ON_CROSS_REFERENCE_ENTITY) invalid record type ---  for SFDC record with ID : null, 4)  This goes away when I give profiles access to that record type. This only happened when Record Type was done in a Flow - if done via regular Workflow rule  (on edit), it works fine.  This is what threw me off.  hopefully this helps someone in the future.
