How can we mass update the description and helptext of fields

The best way to mass update field descriptions and help text across multiple Salesforce objects is to use Salesforce CLI with VS Code.

You can retrieve the field metadata, update the descriptions and help text in the XML files, and deploy the changes back to Salesforce. 

Steps:

1. Retrieve the object and field metadata using Salesforce CLI.
2. Update the description and inlineHelpText properties in the XML files.
3. Use a script or spreadsheet to manage updates for multiple fields.
4. Validate the changes in a sandbox.
5. Deploy the updated metadata to Salesforce.

For a large number of fields, this approach is faster and more efficient than updating each field manually through Setup.
