Hi Team,

When I initially make a monthly recurring donation via the Elevate Giving page, at that time, a recurring donation record will be created in Salesforce, and the first installment opportunity will be in the closed stage. Then, in the next month, an opportunity record will be created in the pledged state.

My question is: Will the payment for the next installment opportunity be automatically charged to the credit card I used to pay for my first installment? Is that correct?

I would like to understand how Elevate handles the management of upcoming payment installments for recurring donations.

Please help me gain better clarity on this.

@Manjula Rajaram - yes recurring donations will be processed using the same card. We're still learning, but just to be clear, Elevate is sending the info to the processor (in our case, Stripe.) We have learned that it's best to do adjustments to recurring donations (alter/cancel) within Salesforce. We haven't tried to update a card yet, but it looks like there is a feature under "Edit"?

Also let me encourage you to use the Admin User guide. I know that can sometimes be like wading through a vast sea, but in this case we've found the documentation really does answer our questions.

(Also, just in case you aren't aware, they are retiring Elevate next October I believe...shame, I know it's not perfect for all, but it works well for us!)
