Hello everyone and thank you @Toni V. Martin for creating this group.
I am a new member to this group. Additionally, I am active duty military and currently transitioning from active service to retirement. I am relatively early in my Salesforce journey and recently earned my Administrator Certification. However, I have extensive experience and education in Business Analysis, Program Management, Process Improvement, and Defense Acquisitions.
I am a Hiring Our Heroes Salesforce Program candidate seeking a fellowship/ internship and or employment opportunities as a Salesforce Business Analyst.
I am truly excited to embark on this Salesforce journey with you all to share, learn, and collaborate.
Hiring Our Heroes Salesforce 23-3 Candidate,
Jay
Doing the trailhead courses for the Salesforce BA is recommended:
https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/credentials/businessanalyst
If you are very new to Salesforce and need general understanding of it, I recommend the trailhead courses for the Salesforce Associate certification:
https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/credentials/associate
Then at some point, obtaining your Salesforce certifications for "Associate" and "Business Analyst" would be beneficial. After that, I would recomment the Salesforce Admin cert trailhead courses and that cert:
https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/credentials/administrator
If you are new to Salesforce, gaining general knowledge of Salesforce first would be best, via the trailhead courses for the Associate cert:
The Associate trailhead and cert description:
The Salesforce Associate certification is designed for individuals who have a fundamental awareness of how an integrated CRM platform solves the challenge of connecting departments and customer data, and who may have up to 6 months of Salesforce user experience. Understanding reporting, user administration, sharing, customization, and data management at a foundational level is also beneficial, but technical expertise is not required.
Then, even for experienced BAs, good to do the Salesforce BA cert trailhead courses to learn the terminology, processes, procedures, etc. that Salesforce wants BAs to know and use.
The BA trailhead and cert description:
Candidates should have knowledge of Salesforce best practices and be proficient in planning discovery activities, mapping business processes, eliciting requirements, and writing user stories.
In summary, would recommend the Salesforce Associate cert trailhead courses first, then the BA cert trailhead courses. Then after those, Admin and Consultant are both good for a BA. Good luck!
