Hi, I am trying to find out what all other alternatives (to Mulesoft) are available in the market to integrate with EHR (Dr Chrono to be specific). If any of you have used such tool for the integration feel free to share. Thank you. - Mit

If you are going to be passing healthcare data through a tool, and especially if it persists that data then the organization must be willing to sign a BAA and meet recommended security frameworks like HiTrust.

That significantly limits your options in the market to those willing and able to handle PHI (or an on-prem solution where your client takes on the responsibility of security).

On top of that, while FHIR/API/REST have made a lot of headway most enterprise vendors are still steering clients toward messaging/file-based protocols (HL-7). That means finding a healthcare-specific integration vendor as well.

That leaves you with a handful of vendors, unfortunately. Mulesoft is one of them for sure. InterSystems is the big player, especially with EPIC clients. Mirth and Rhapsody are the other ones that come to mind.

Rhapsody has REST capability, but the API management layer is not quite there yet and Mulesoft is better.

Intersystems, well, let's just say I had such a horrible experience I didn't even want to say their name ;)
