CPQ in the Solar Industry

Hi All,

Just wondering if we have anyone here who has utilised CPQ products in the Solar PV industry?

I am working with 2 separate clients, and I can see how they could easily use CPQ (or other 3rd party CPQ apps) to create their bundled products and up-sell/cross-sell etc with.

But one of the biggest issues is with their design process. Both clients currently use standalone Solar specific quoting tools, which through the interface, allows the user to use the Google maps API to zoom into a property and use it to give them measurements, and also to Solar panels onto the roof, allowing them to essentially mock up where and how many panels can go onto the roof. 

Once completed, it will output the bill of materials, along with some of the power information (Potential kWph etc).

This is obviously a great tool for this industry, as the quoting can be done remotely and there is no need to climb up a ladder with your measuring tape! :) 

 I am going to reach out to these solar quoting apps to see what s possible with their APIs, but I feel what is needed is the ability to have that graphical design tool inside of Salesforce.

Has anyone seen anything close to this being done inside of Salesforce before?

Open to all or any suggestions.
