Hi, has anyone used the Asset and Product objects to track assets (physical and financial) for their nonprofit? My org is wanting to do this now and looking into some potential solutions. I am still pretty new but figured this might be the thing to use, and can be customized for any additional needs. We would ideally want to track things like laptops and cellphones and be able to assign to specific individuals who has it at any given moment. We were hoping to use some sort of barcode/scanner software so that we can check in and out physical items quickly and easily without manual entry each time and updates info in Salesforce. Is there an app in the appexchange that people recommend? Additionally, finance team would want to be able to transfer some of the data, like the fixed financial assets to their finance system, Financial Edge NXT. is there an integration there as well? Thanks for any advice or other suggestions around this.
For the laptops and cellphones part, ITAM App is a native package built for this: assign devices to individuals, see who holds what right now, and keep the history when they move. Staff don't need Salesforce licences. The free plan covers 20 owners and 100 assets with no time limit. To be upfront about the other two points, there's no prebuilt Financial Edge NXT connector, so that would be an API build, and data comes in by CSV or API rather than discovery.
