I have a form that asked for customers to select multiple products they may be interested in. That field maps to Pardot through the Form Handler into a text field. I'd like to use Dynamic Content to List the Values they selected on the form and hyperlink them with product info PDFs for the autoresponder email, instead of showing them a concatenated list of their choices.
Has anyone tried this or encountered trouble making something like this work?
Multiselects are always tricky because they not just a list of possibilities, they are a matrix of combinations. Dynamic content is only showing 1 block of content from a list of single outcomes, so unless your matrix is small you're going to run out of the 25 options. Further, the options will only allow you "is" or "contains" on a single value, so all you're going to get for a single block of dynamic content is a return of one value. Duplicating dynamic content multiple times might work, but you'd have to rotate the order in which it evaluated the field so you didn't get the same result twice in a row. Again, it depends on how many options you have and how many things people tend to pick. Also, doing this on an autoresponder may not work because it's possible there won't be enough time for the dynamic content to calculate. It's likely that you will have to use a combination of strategies to do this-- combining dynamic content and automation rules, for example. Or creating an engagement studio that sorts out the combinations to pick the right dynamic template. Or even using conditional HML and custom fields for each product in the template. Not an easy problem to solve!
