I've got a partial sandbox that is painfully slow. How would I go about troubleshooting the issue? It's a recent partial copy from production - no configuration changes since copy was done. Prod runs fine, sandbox is slow, slow, slow!

You will not find this on any official Salesforce doc, but I have heard from insiders that sandboxes do not have the same "power" that production orgs have because they are sandboxes. They have chosen to reserve faster ($$) processing for production environments. The cloud is still a slower engine than local servers of yesteryear, or a local install. It's like when a new highway is built, and real estate developers start promoting the benefits of less traffic with a new highway, only to get people to buy into it and contribute to increased traffic again.
