I am about to build a small e-commerce site based on a tool like Shopify or Woocommerce. I would like to have right from the start one pice of software indepentend from the c-commerce system storing all customer data and transactions. In case the business grows I do not want to deal with migration of data to a more advanced system if I can avoid that!
Further down the road I would like to add service but right in the beginning the focus is clearly on marketing. Analyzing customer data and adressing them on different channels.
I also thought ob HubSpot in this regard but I would like to have an integrated solution.
Here is my actual question: What would I need in Salesforce to collect and analyze customer data and utilize the data through marketing activities? Marketing Cloud?
I am not going to do regular sales, only e-commerce, do I still need the Sales Cloud?
From the experts opinion on this plartform: Is this (markerting for a small e-commerce site) something Salesfoce can be recommended for and what would be needed for this?

Hi Lukasđź’Ž
For an e-commerce setup focusing on customer data and marketing, Salesforce can be a powerful ally. You wouldn’t necessarily need Sales Cloud if you’re solely e-commerce based. For your needs, Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be ideal to collect and analyze customer data and manage your marketing campaigns across various channels.
Marketing Cloud has built-in analytics and segmentation capabilities, plus it can handle multi-channel marketing campaigns, which seems to align with your goals. And if you’re considering a CRM to keep all your customer data and transactions in sync, Salesforce Service Cloud could be integrated later on for customer service purposes.
Salesforce can definitely handle the marketing for a small e-commerce site, and it scales well as you grow. It’s worth looking into a Salesforce consultant or attending a demo to see how it fits your specific needs.🤗
