"resource can't be used as a merge field."

Question

I am working on flows to calculate commissions and am confused why I am having an issue. I have two flows with the same exact object they are referencing, variable setup, and structure for the flow to function. The only difference is the formulas I am using. The weird thing is that when I enter the formulas on one of them, I get the error message stating that the fields "resource can't be used as a merge field." whereas, in the other flow, I get no error message at all. Turns out I had the Variable in my formula and you need to "Record (Single) Variable" in. It worked on my other flow because the API of the variable on the one iwth the issue was the same as the "Record (Single) Variable" on the other flow.
