Hi all - I tried searching for this, but when looking at anything around 'event' I kept getting results around tasks and activities in SFDC, not physical events that a business would host/sponsor.

At my company we sponsor and host a ton of events, and appropriately viewing the overall success of said events is a very tricky problem today. We have an external data warehouse in Google Docs that sums up a variety of reports to display appropriate costs, leads (existing + net new), meetings, opps, and deals. And much of the data requires manual verification (particularly around meetings) to tie them to specific events.

I've been tasked with identifying a better way to display this data so that manual intervention isn't required as heavily and as frequently, so I'm thinking of shifting this into a Salesforce dashboard.

However, I can't find any examples out there of this successfuly being done to track success across the funnel. Obviously, opps and deals are pretty easy to track by Primary Campaign Source on the opportunity level. I'm assuming I'll be able to filter a dashboard to only show certain types of campaigns (Sponsored Events in this case), but where I'm really struggling is to bridge the gap on the leads and meetings front.

I'm aware that leads and contacts are associated with campaigns, but as far as I can tell in Salesforce there is no notation of how many of those leads were CREATED as a result of the campaign they are a member of.

Secondly, I have absolutely no idea on how to tie meetings to specific campaigns. I evaluated adding a lookup field of some type of campaign source to meetings, however we have a ton of campaigns (including sponsored emails, twitter campaigns, PR campaigns, etc etc) that I think it might be difficult for a salesperson to navigate through and find the appropriate event.

So, two part question really: (a) does anyone have any good examples of an event dashboard (actual events, not activities as salesforce defines them) that tracks success at all stages of the funnel, and (b) does anyone have any ideas about how I can solve the problems of tying net new leads and meetings to specific campaigns?

I am not a Salesforce dev, or even a dedicated Salesforce admin at my company, so my experience in this area is fairly limited. Essentially, I would like the dashboard to look like the following. Also, it would need to display "0" in the meeting column if there was nothing associated with it.

Trade Show/Events Dashboard

Cheers,

    Here are the steps.

1.When ever a event takes place ,Store the details of event in SFDC under Campaign.

2.Enter the Leads ,which you have received through the event.

3.Run a report on the Lead and in the report select "Add to Campaign".

Hi Marcus, Here are the steps. 1.When ever a event takes place ,Store the details of event in SFDC under Campaign. 2.Enter the Leads ,which you have received through the event. 3.

4.By adding the leads to campaign will help to fetch the details of Number of Leads IN and Number of leads converted and opportunities etc....

5.Now run a report on the Campaign  it will show all the informations as below.

Now come to the Meeting. How you are populating the information into Meeting? What type of information this object is holding.Does Meeting here corresponds to Taks/Events(Some discussions with the Leads)?
