Does anyone know how I could reference back to the Care Plan Template Task that was used to create a Task after applying a template?  My use case is - we want to add a custom field to the Care Plan Template task for "Surgical Offset Date".  After a surgery date has been populated on the Case object (custom field), we want to trigger some logic to change the due dates of tasks that are post-surgical.

I've reach out via Salesforce support, but they haven't been very helpful. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Zach - this is where we had got to as well. I was hoping that SF could provide either of these 2 options to reduce ongoing maintenance:

    1. Ability to define custom field mapping metadata to help configure the Apply Template function.

    and/or

    2. Ability to provide the template task reference on the created task. That would then allow workflow/process builder capability to be implemented much more simply and avoid Apex coding.

Is there a way to request the above and ask SF to expedite? #2 (at face value) doesn't seem to be too difficult to add...
