I currently use Classic to schedule reports as I have reports that I only need scheduled for a set period of time. I use the Start and End dates that you can in Classic to do this.

Is this possible in Lightning?

Is there a way in lightning to schedule a report with a start and end date like you can in classic

    Hi Fletcher,

Standard Lightning report scheduling (Subscribe) does not have a Start/End date option like Classic does. Per official Salesforce docs, the Lightning Subscribe flow only lets you set a frequency, delivery time, recipients, and optional conditions, there's no field to specify a schedule end date:

    https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=analytics.reports_subscribe_lex.htm&type=5

    Workarounds:

    - Keep using Classic Schedule Report for reports that need a hard end date. Classic and Lightning subscriptions can coexist, this isn't deprecated.

    - In Lightning, manually delete/unsubscribe the report subscription once the period ends

    - Use Scheduled Flow or Scheduled Apex to programmatically delete the report subscription record on your target end date, if you want it automated

Reference for Classic scheduling with Start/End (for comparison):

    https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=reports_schedule.htm&type=5

No native Lightning equivalent exists yet for the End Date field specifically.

Hello! Does anyone have any suggestions on call tracking features in salesforce? We are leaning towards Aircall CTI, but if anyone has any suggestions on something similar and/or better let me know!

We want it to be as seamless as possible - our reps make a call in salesforce and it's automatically tracked/notes, states how long the call was etc. and we can report on it.

    Hi @Abby M,

I think you'll find most CTI providers have similar feature sets. In addition to Aircall, our clients have had success with Five9, Ring Central, and Vonage.

I created a custom report type using "A with or without related records from B". Then I built a report to show the count of B records per A.

However, I'm seeing an issue: when an A record has no related B records, the report subtotal still shows 1 instead of 0. As a result, the overall count is inflated and doesn't reflect the actual number of B records.

Why does this happen? Is there something I am missing during configuration?

FYI : A is the parent object, and B is the child object in a one-to-many lookup relationship

    Hi @Chirag Chakraborty

This is expected behavior with "with or without related records" report types not a bug or misconfiguration.

Why it happens: When A has no related B records, the join still produces one result row for that A record (with all B fields null), so it counts as 1 in the grouped subtotal. The report is counting rows, not counting non-null B records.

Fix - use a Row Count that actually reflects population:

    • Instead of subtotaling on a generic count, subtotal on a specific B field (e.g., B's Record ID or Name) using Record Count in the summary. Some report builders let you choose "Row Count" vs count-of-a-field - count of a specific child field still won't fix it directly, since Salesforce's summary "Record Count" always counts rows, not non null field values.

    The more reliable fixes:

    1. Add a filter: B: ID not equal to blank - this excludes the phantom join rows entirely, so A records with zero children don't appear in the grouped count at all (they'll simply be absent, not shown as 0).
    2. If you need to see A records with zero B's explicitly (shown as 0, not omitted): standard reports can't easily distinguish "1 phantom row" from "1 real row" in the subtotal you'd need a workaround like a formula field on B that always evaluates true when B exists, then summarize that formula field instead of raw Record Count.
    3. Alternative: build this as a matrix report or use a roll-up summary field on A (Count of B) if this is a recurring need a roll-up avoids the report-join ambiguity entirely and gives you a real 0 when there are no children.

Quick check: filter your existing report to A.Id is not null AND B.Id is not null and compare subtotals if the inflated total drops to the correct count, that confirms this is the phantom row cause.

Hi,  I need to create a specific report that should show:  The number of logins to the system in the last 30 days by users belonging to public groups, grouped by public groups.    For example:  User_1 is member of Group_1 and has logged in 10 times, User_2 is member of Group_1 and Group_2 and has logged in 5 times. In the report, I'd like to see:    Group_1:      User_1: 10      User_2: 5  Group_2:      User_2: 5    Getting this data is easy using SOQL, but I have no idea how to do it using reports.   Please help me ;)     @Reports & Dashboards

I'm trying to limit a report output to show only records within a specified date range using the Order Expected Date field.  There doesn't seem to be a filter option where I can select "between".  Can anyone advise the correct way for me to do this? My dates are between 01/11/2026 and 31/01/2028 inclusive of each

On SalesForce report limit records to only those within a specific date range

    Hello @Donna McKell

You can create two separate filters on the Order Expected Date field and combine them using Filter Logic.

    - Open your report in the Edit mode and go to the Filters pane.

    - Add the first filter for your start date:

       Field: Order Expected Date

Operator: greater or equal (which handles the "inclusive of each" requirement)

       Value: 01/11/2026

    - Add the second filter for your end date:

       Field: Order Expected Date

Operator: less or equal (inclusive of the end date)

       Value: 31/01/2028

    - Click Add Filter Logic (underneath the filters list).

    - Enter the logic combining both filter numbers with an AND operator:

      Example: 1 AND 2

    - Click Apply, then Save and Run your report.

Hi all.  Hoping someone has a good trick for this; I've exhausted all the suggestions I can find on it.  Stacked bar chart component is sorted by a bucketed field.  I don't really care whether it's 1 to 9 or vice versa but it's randomly out of order for stages in between. I've tried renaming both the stages and the buckets with 1, 2 or 01., 02. etc but it still won't behave.  I know this has been a weird bug for a while but wondering if anyone cracked it.  I even tried a sort order formula field to force it but no luck.

New finding: It has something to do with adding the secondary measure.  You add your component, select the chart type, set the axis = Legend/chart bar stacks are fine.  As soon as you click + measure

(even before selecting which one), the legend order changes.  Odd behaviour = how do we circumvent this?

Forcing sort order of Dashboard component legend

Please see screen shot - why won't #5 behave?  Thanks.

I would like to see how the average Stage Duration has changed over time (ex. today vs. 30, 60, 90 days ago) for open opportunities.  But I am having trouble finding the correct report type.  Have tried using Opportunity History and Opportunity Trends report type.  Opportunity Trends seems to only report the current Stage Duration and not historical (like it does with some other opportunity fields).

Group Columns: Snapshot comparison date

Group Rows: Stage

Data would show average of stage duration for open opportunities in that stage and on that date.  Not sure if there is an out-of-the box solution for this type of report.

You are on the right track - what you sketched IS the pattern, and the feature is Reporting Snapshots (Setup, Reporting Snapshots). Stage Duration is a live days-in-current-stage value that Salesforce does not historize, which is why Opportunity Trends only ever shows today's number. Snapshots let you capture it on a schedule and trend it yourself:

    1. Source report: a tabular or summary report of open opportunities with Stage and Stage Duration, filtered to open.

    2. Target custom object: create one with fields mirroring the columns you want to keep, plus a Snapshot Date field.

    3. Reporting Snapshot: map the report columns to the custom object fields and schedule it daily or weekly. Each run writes point-in-time rows stamped with the run date.

    4. Trend report: build it on the custom object - Group Columns by Snapshot Date, Group Rows by Stage, summarize Average of Stage Duration. Exactly the matrix you described.

Two caveats: snapshots only capture going forward (no backfill for dates before you start), and each run loads up to 2,000 rows, so keep the source filtered to open opps. Historical Trending is the other option but it is limited to a few fixed fields and about 3 months and does not cover Stage Duration well, so Snapshots are the right tool here.

    1. On the Reports tab, click New Folder.
    2. Name the folder. The folder name must be unique across all report and dashboard folders.
    3. Click Save.

I have a dashboard where users can adjust their "viewing as" to see data for their direct reports (all reports filter to see MY XYZ). I have one user that is unable to see the "change" option at all in the upper left of their dash. Any ideas about the cause? One user unable to change view as on dashboard

    Hi @Courtney Smith,

I’d first check the “View My Team’s Dashboards” permission. Without it, the Change option for “Viewing As” may not be available. Also verify that the dashboard is configured to Let dashboard viewers choose whom they view the dashboard as .

    Thank You.
