Analyze Data and Build Predictive Models
Learning Objectives
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
- List the Salesforce tools you can use to visualize and analyze Data Cloud data.
- Describe Tableau Semantics functionality.
- Define predictive AI and its role as an AI foundation in Data Cloud.
- Describe the different ways you can create or use predictive models with Einstein Studio.
Before You Start
This badge is part of the Data Cloud: Explore Setup to Activation trail. The content is designed to be completed in order. In this badge, you explore ways you can analyze your data. You also learn how you can expand your data and build or use predictive AI models with Einstein Studio. Let’s get started!
An Overview of Analytics Tools
Data Cloud transforms raw business data into actionable intelligence, but you still need to analyze that data. The following tools offer a variety of analytics features you can use with Data Cloud. Explore the different options for gaining insight into your business data.
Tool | Description | Learn More |
---|---|---|
Tableau Next | Tableau Next agentic analytics delivers personalized, contextual, and actionable insights everywhere work happens. Tableau Next, Tableau Semantics, and Data Cloud work together as a connected ecosystem to unlock the value of your data. With all three natively built into Salesforce and integrated with Agentforce, any team can discover analytical insights to make strategic decisions quickly. | |
Tableau | Tableau is a complete, flexible analytics platform for harmonizing, managing, and exploring data with interactive visualizations. You can combine and manage data from multiple sources in the Tableau platform. | |
Data Cloud Reports and Dashboards | Use Data Cloud reports to create standard reports on single or multiple related data model objects (DMOs), semantic models, or calculated insights. You can also build a custom report type on DMO fields and records from Data Cloud. Visualize KPIs and trends from Data Cloud reports in your dashboards. | Find Answers to Business Questions with Data Cloud Reports and Dashboards |
CRM Analytics | With CRM Analytics Direct Data for Data Cloud, you can operationalize data analysis without first loading Data Cloud, prepping it, or creating live datasets. Embed Data Cloud records into CRM Analytics dashboards for any Salesforce object and run queries on the data in real time using single sign-on across both platforms. You can filter Data Cloud information, drill deeper, and act on your records directly from the dashboards. | |
Marketing Cloud Intelligence | With Marketing Cloud Intelligence, you can connect, harmonize, visualize, and act on your marketing data. Optimize performance within campaigns, and discover insights in real-time and then act on them. | |
Service Intelligence | Service Intelligence is a data-driven solution that displays key contact center performance metrics. Service Intelligence includes Data Cloud, CRM Analytics, and Einstein Conversation Mining. The combination of customer data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and AI helps your service team improve operations and reduce costs. |
About Tableau Semantics
Tableau Semantics is the powerful, AI-infused semantic layer integrated into Data Cloud that translates your data into familiar business terms and logic. Use Tableau Semantics with any data in your organization that’s accessible through Data Cloud. When you create semantic models and semantic definitions on top of Data Cloud, you can get better data that’s associated with your business goals. Test your semantic models and copy generated SQL queries to access data in other analytics or business intelligence (BI) tools.
To sum up, with Tableau Semantics, you can centralize trusted data and expand how it’s used across Salesforce applications, analytics tools, and AI. Meanwhile, built-in AI assistance reduces IT overhead by eliminating extra tools and manual processes.
Einstein Studio: Your AI Home Base
Your business has data that can help AI predict future outcomes and drive decision-making at your organization. But how do you enable AI to identify, surface, and visualize insights within your Data Cloud data? Enter Einstein Studio, your AI home base within Data Cloud for accessing all your data, regardless of data type or where it lives. Using clicks not code, Einstein Studio lets you easily augment your business intelligence with AI, helping you quickly create and use generative models, predictions, and improvements.
With Einstein Studio, you can create an AI model, for example, that analyzes customer behavior to predict which prospects are most likely to purchase (Propensity to Buy Scoring), so that sales teams can focus their efforts effectively. Einstein Studio makes these predictions easy, accessible, and trusted–Einstein Studio is integrated directly into your Data Cloud environment and therefore sits under the Einstein Trust Layer.
Einstein Studio offers you three ways to use AI models.
- Create predictive AI models from scratch. Business users without specialized technical expertise can build, deploy, and activate machine learning models directly on their existing Data Cloud data.
- Bring your own model (BYOM). Connect predictive AI models built in external platforms (such as Amazon SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Databricks) directly with Data Cloud. Once connected, predictions from these external models can be seamlessly consumed across Salesforce, bringing customer insights into every touchpoint.
- Bring your own large language model (BYOLLM). This extends the BYOM concept to generative AI, allowing you to add a foundation model hosted on an external platform and connect it with Einstein Studio to power your generative AI solutions.
