He authors IEEE’s ‘IT Innovation’ column, serves on the board at Capstone IT and Tower Financial Partners; and is an executive advisor and emerging technology evangelist to hundreds of senior leaders. Participating as a hands-on technical and functional sales engineer across multiple industries has afforded Rob exposure to a broad range of enterprise applications, sales methodologies, and complete end-to-end systems.

Brock has architected and developed over 100 business intelligence projects for companies and governments around the world. Brock Cooper is skilled in visualization, databases, data warehouses, Snowflake, SQL, AWS, python, and building data pipelines.

Jeremy Blaney: Product Manager for Tableau Blueprint.

Jeremy is helping organizations scale the use of data and analytics and foster the right behaviors and beliefs that lead to a successful data culture. In addition, Jeremy is leading data strategy for the COVID-19 Data Hub, creating solutions in partnership with Salesforce, MuleSoft and Tableau to help the public respond to COVID-19 through the use of data. During his tenure at Tableau, Jeremy has partnered with clients to build data capabilities, create a data culture, and deliver business value including the United Nations, global financial services firms, U.S. government agencies, and Fortune 500 retail companies. In addition to his work at Tableau, Jeremy is a professor on data analytics at The Fletcher School at Tufts University and the University of Texas. Jeremy served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, largely as an intelligence analyst, completing assignments with NATO's Allied Air Command and deploying in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. After separating from the military, he worked at Bank of America, leading people analytics projects in support of diversity and inclusion, organizational health, employee relations and other people-focused areas. Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University, a master of arts in diplomacy from Norwich University and a master of international business from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children.

Tony Gherardini, Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs & Chief Operating Officer, State of Colorado 

 

Tony Gherardini is the Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs in the Colorado Governor’s Office. In this role he serves as the chief operating officer of the State, oversees statewide performance management and works with the Governor’s Chief of Staff to manage the Governor’s Cabinet. Previously, Tony worked as the Deputy Executive Director of Operations for the Colorado Department of Human Services. In this role, he  supported the Executive Director and oversaw internal support services and direct services provided by the Department. These direct services include the Colorado Division of Youth Services, the state Mental Health Institutes, the State’s Regional Center System, and the state's Veterans Community Living Centers. Prior to being appointed to this role, Tony served in multiple roles within the Department of Human Services.

Before working for the State of Colorado, Tony served with the US. Army in Afghanistan, and worked as a Detective for the Lakewood, CO Police Department. Tony is a 2017 Aspen Institute Children and Families Ascend Fellow, and is a former member of the Colorado Commission for Criminal and Juvenile Justice. Tony holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, and a bachelor's degree in political science from Colorado State University.

The former involves addressing organizational issues in data sharing and promoting the technological platforms for data exchanges across the state, which will be based on an API-centric approach. The latter entails developing best practices and a common framework for data governance. Jon also continues to manage the state's GIS Coordination and Development Program. He has also served as the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator for the State of Colorado and worked with other state agencies and local governments to make geographic data discoverable and accessible and to enhance the sharing and maturity of geographic data and information systems across the state.

 

Jon has a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania but is happy to be close to mountains and loves sharing the Colorado outdoors with his sons or others whenever possible

Jack Reed is a statistical analyst with the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice’s Office of Research and Statistics. He joined the office in 2014, bringing experience in data analysis, research design, and project evaluation. Jack is primarily tasked with analyzing the impact of marijuana legalization on law enforcement, juveniles, public health, education, impaired driving, and diversion to other markets. He has experience evaluating specialty courts, community corrections programs, jail‐based treatment programs, and strategic planning in the criminal justice system. Jack has a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno and an M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Are you new to Tableau Desktop and interested in hands-on classroom training to help you visualize your data? Have you dabbled in Tableau Desktop but are ready to take a deeper dive with the help of an instructor?

EKS&H is hosting an interactive two-day class to introduce Tableau Desktop, designed to help each user build a foundation of Tableau competence, moving from relatively simple to more robust visualizations before combining the information in interactive dashboards and stories.

Using a custom dataset, step-by-step instructions, and self-directed exercises, the goal of this hands-on class is to engage each student in a two-way dialogue. We enable students to immediately connect to their own data sources the day after training ends and start visualizing data.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Working with data (includes filters, groups, hierarchies, and sets)
  • Using special field types (geographic and date fields)
  • Calculations (includes calculated fields, totals/subtotals, and table calculations)
  • Additional visualization types (includes treemaps, combined access charts, and stacked bar charts)

Head Wrestling Coach, Valor Christian High School.

 

Tim Welch has been in education since 1987, as a teacher, Technology Coordinator, Administrator, and Coach in various public and private secondary schools in Colorado for the past 32 years. Most recently, Tim spent seven years at Kent Denver School, three years at Cherry Creek High School, before landing at Valor Christian HS, where he has resided for the past 11 years.  His main sport is wrestling, but he also has developed athletes in track, baseball and golf since 1982, both at the youth and high school level.

 

In addition to being Valor’s first and only Head Wrestling Coach, Tim Welch has been at Valor since its opening day, performing duties both in and out of the classroom. Math Teacher, Bible Teacher, Mission Trips Coordinator, and Senior Class Administrator partially describe all the hats that he has worn at Valor. When asked about his purpose in coaching, Coach Welch says he wants to “Use the sport of wrestling to instill all the disciplines the sport has to offer, while developing godly men. "Amidst seeing his wrestlers succeed on the mat, Coach Welch’s heart is for these young men to grow even more in their character, and becoming confident in overcoming adversity and achieving their dreams."

Mr. Welch has been married to Terri, since 1988. and has 4 children, Kelsi, Torey, Coby, and Jake.
