Hi Nonprofit Community! Weekly Roundup - Sept 11

Before I dive into the usual Friday updates, wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that it's September 11th - 25 years since September 11th, 2001. Just wanted to pause and remember those we lost, those who lost loved ones, and everyone impacted in any way. Feels weird to simply keep chugging along sometimes, so wanted to pause, acknowledge, and remember <3

Now, let's take a look at what's going on in the Nonprofit Salesforce world this week - as we've got this event called DREAMFORCE NEXT WEEK! Even if you can't attend in SF, there are options for ways to get involved on Salesforce+ virtually, in Dreamforce 2 U events following, etc. Chime in on the comments if there are other hot topics you'd like to share too :)

Join Us for the Affordable Housing Commons Workshop on 22 October in London!

On 22 October, we're hosting a Community Sprint style workshop for the UK Housing community, bringing housing association customers and partners together at the Salesforce AI Centre, 9 Devonshire Square, London, from 9:30am to 5:00pm.

If you haven't attended a Sprint or workshop with us before, you can expect a fun, free, hands-on innovation day where you and other house associations come together to build open source solutions, tools anyone can use, for free, forever.

At the workshop you can expect to share your housing and Salesforce knowledge to help build out community-led soon to be launched solutions including:

• Easy Repair Locator, donated by Riverside Housing, now ready to use and published on GitHub, helping tenants find the right repair contact fast
• Easy Milestones, donated by Believe Housing, a custom tool that manages deadline extensions and pauses the clock outside business hours
• Switchee IoT Integration, bringing real time smart home sensor data on property condition straight into Salesforce
• Email2Record, using intelligent document processing to automatically pull information out of emails and create Salesforce records, saving hours of manual work
• Case Candy, new designs making it easier for tenants to check on their case status

Why it's worth your time:

• Meet others in the housing sector tackling the same challenges you are, tenant repairs, compliance, case management, and build solutions together instead of starting from scratch
• Get hands on help from generous, experienced volunteers and Salesforce employees who give their time to this work
• Leave with real, usable tools your team can start using right away

Whether you're an admin, developer, subject matter expert, architect, or programme manager, if you're curious what a community of volunteers can build together for housing, come along.

Functions Inside Functions

The SUBSTITUTE function allowed me to make a text formula that turns a multiselect picklist into a list of values in the order I wanted and with no trailing separators. Niche use case, but super helpful when you need it.
