Commons Project: Ombudsman Cloud Care

Part of the Salesforce Open Source Commons program. Project to support the Ombudsman Cloud Care (OCC) app, powered by Salesforce, to modernize Navy Ombudsman manual call logs and case management processes to drive digital transformation, innovation, and operational excellence at no cost. Team: Laura Etzler, Volunteer Manager Mary Crozier, Founder Michael Kolodner, App Architect Shelley Bolt, Salesforce Admin+Ombudsman Success

We’re kicking off a new year with the annual Commons contributor survey.

This anonymous survey is intended to give you space to share your feedback and experience in the Salesforce.org Commons program over the past year (2022). This community is yours — your feedback is critical to ensure the spaces we create work for you. Your responses help us understand the impact the Commons has on you and the community, what’s working well and what needs improvement, and how we can continue to support and engage with contributors like you.

We’re kicking off a new year with the annual Commons contributor survey. This anonymous survey is intended to give you space to share your feedback and experience in the Salesforce.

If you’ve participated in the Commons by attending a Community Sprint, attending a Mini-Sprint, or volunteering your time on a project team in the past year in the past year (2022), please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey by Friday, January 21st.

Thank you for the time, energy, and skills you’ve contributed to the Commons and community-led projects whether this was your first year or your 10th. You continue to inspire me every day, and I’m looking forward to engaging in 2023.

We've been to Baltimore, but not DC itself. We used to host our events in hotel ballrooms, so always tended to host in cities more accessible to our Nonprofit community, cost wise, and ones that were generally within driving distance from other large cities.

Since we've come back post-covid we host in Salesforce office spaces where they have enough space to hold about 100 Sprinters which are generally the towers in bigger cities. It's very possible we could come to DC in the future if there is a space we can use.

For virtual, during covid we held 100% virtual events, but for the upcoming November Sprint in SFO, we're piloting our first hybrid experience. Sign up before Thursday if you're interested in participating with us on Nov 2nd and 3rd :)

Heads up OSC Teams and volunteers!

Because of this move, existing links to the Open Source Commons documentation on the Power of Us Hub site will no longer be accessible after July 15th. There will NOT be a redirect in place for our docs, so any prior link directed to the Hub will result in the "We Moved" page message.

New OSC Doc link (on Salesforce Help & Training site)

I've updated the group side panel with the new links, but please do the same in your group(s) if you've linked to them.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Happy 2022 Contributors! Will you take 10 mins to share feedback about your Open Source Commons (OSC) contribution experiences in our brand new survey?

That’s right, I’m kicking off a fresh new year with a brand new survey! For the first time ever, we are launching the Open Source Commons Contributor survey to better understand the impact the OSC has had on you as an individual and on the Salesforce.org community at large. Your feedback will help us improve the OSC program, how we support and engage with the community and contributors, and will be completely anonymous. Aggregated results and responses may be shared internally and through external social channels.

If you’ve attended a Community Sprint or Mini-Sprint event, or volunteer your time on a project team, please take 5-10 minutes to complete the survey by Friday, January 21st!

Hello, fellow Trailblazers!

Golly, do I have an opportunity for you! Are you looking for a place to hide yet? Wait, hear me out... this isn't going to be just about Giving your time (as important as that is); it's also about getting something back. Here's the WIFY (What's in it for you): Become a hero for your Company/Organization by understanding IMPACT MANAGEMENT better. We're looking at this from a nonprofit standpoint, but the principles can be utilized elsewhere.

On Friday, Ombudsman Cloud Care is hosting its first mini-sprint. You do NOT need to be a volunteer with OCC or even have extensive Salesforce experience or certifications to join us. All we ask is that:

  • You complete (or at least peruse) the Impact Management Basics (40 min) module, so you know what it's all about. I also recommend the Trail: Accelerate Your Mission with Impact Management 2 hr if you have the time.
  • You're willing to share ideas.
  • You have a desire to help volunteers serve others more effectively.
  • You want to learn from the experts about measuring Impact. Yes, that's right: Salesforce.Org SME(s) will join us and help guide us through this experience

Not familiar with OCC - Read more search in the Trailblazer community: @Community Project: Ombudsman Cloud Care

or if in the Power of Us Hub here:  @Community Project - Ombudsman Cloud Care

Interested in finding out more about the mini-sprint? See the link

We'd love to see you there! Fresh perspectives and voices are welcome. 🚀

(feel free to share)
