Hi! Does anyone know how the practice test compares to the actual test? I have my exam in a couple of weeks and I'm curious if I should take the practice exam to see how I would do.

Hi Brenda, I recommend springing for the $20 and taking the practice test on webassessor. I am taking my admin certification exam this week, and taking the practice exam (I scored an 80%) last week definitely made me feel better about being ready for the real thing.

Hi all,

I just passed the certification!  Very relieved. I thought I was fairly prepared after doing the 6 week class, three practice tests, tons of Flash Cards, all of the review trail mix and achieving an Expeditioner status on the trailhead.  I also completed a Security Specialist Super Badge. However, I felt I had to GUESS at a lot of the questions on the test, and I am not sure how I passed.  They give you a chance to comment at the end and I said that I didn't even know how to study to re-take the exam if I failed it.  Did anyone else have this same experience?  There seemed to be lots of questions  on custom objects and workflows.

Anyway, good luck to everyone and if you have any specific questions, I'm happy to try to help.

Take care!

Joan

Hey everyone,

I passed my certification exam today! YAY :D

I've been preparing for it for a while, and it was definitely a test on the harder side.

Mock/practice tests and flashcards helped me the most in that they got me comfortable with the exam format.

I felt that a LOT of the questions I got were worded so poorly it could be confusing to understand what the question meant or what was the requirement (and it did not seem like it was done on purpose to "test" your knowledge, it looked like just bad writing skills from the author IMHO). Reading all the answer options helped to shed some light, but it was still a bit frustrating in an already "tense" situation.

I hope you are all well and healthy!

Cheers

S

Hi everyone, wanted to share that I passed my cert exam this past Saturday (31st).

I scheduled for Friday, 30th to do it from home but for some reason windows 10 did not allow the software that we need to install (Sentinnel) to view my camera the whole time even though I enabled permission. The software could access my camera on the first screen where a picture is taken, but when it got to the second screen, that are 2 dropdowns to choose the mic and the camera and the dropdowns were blank. So they cancelled it. It was nerve wracking. I got in contact with support. We troubleshooted for 2 hours. I installed the software in another laptop and the same issue happened. I am glad there were centers open nearby (MA) and support re-scheduled it for the next day.

Wanted to share my experience and hope no one has the same issues I had.

Best of luck for all of you.

I now started the developer 1 training. Heading to the next journey.

Stay safe!

Has anyone completed a superbadge? I'm stuck on one section and can't move forward, but I don't know if there's somewhere I can go for help?

HI.. I did the Security Super Badge. I had to do a lot of research and searching for help when I got stuck. The community is a great resource, and there are lots of other people who have done the same thing so try to search for a specific problem you have on Google.

Working on week 3 creating an object-specific quick action.  When I try to create a new custom object tab the "Property" object does not populate.  I see the object in the object manager but it doesn't populate on the custom object tab page.  Any idea what I'm missing?

Thanks,

Control Access to Objects - week 2.  Going back and re-doing some of these challenges/modules.  In week 2 under Control Access to Objects, it says:

  1. Find Profiles in Setup.
  2. Select a profile and then click Edit.
  3. Set the most restrictive settings and permissions you can for this user type, and save. (Don’t worry about blocking the user from doing things they need to do. We'll open up more possibilities for them later, when we give them permission sets.)

What are the most restrictive settings and permissions?  Where is the info for this?

TIA!

I think language in the Unit is simply telling you that, once you have determined the level of access for the user *type* you are working to set up in the system, you should always start with the most restricted profile for their use case.

This is because the profile is the base-layer for access to "fields and buttons" (as Sara would say) - much like OWD is for records a user do not own.

You can always open up access as needed for specific users via specific options like assigning permissions, which you wouldn't be able to do in order to restrict access.

Hi all,

I can't get through "Control Access to Objets"  The instructions for assigning a profile say:

  1. Find Profiles in Setup.
  2. Select a profile and then click Edit

I don't see the EDIT button.  I see EDIT Properties only..

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi, All! I just wanted to let you all know that I do weekly imports/exports for my job as a Salesforce Admin. We use 3 databases, and I have to import data from 2 of them into Salesforce on a weekly basis, so importing/exporting is my thing. If anyone has questions on the importing/exporting trailheads, please let me know, I'd love to help!

Hi Rachel! Is there a simplified way to download the weekly data export in a more consolidated way rather than having to download each zip file? Thx

I am working on the Import & Export with Data Management Tools module and trying to open the xcel document in that module and it's saying can't open in protected view. Then I finally got it to open but don't think the file is saving correctly as csv because when I go to check it's sayingt the Lead records from my CSV file are not found. Can anyone help

This has been resolved. I started a new trailhead and it worked.

    Thanks!
