Tomorrow Jan 7th is the big day when all Salesforce orgs are enabled for the Lightning Experience. Please note that this is only for users who have been enabled for the appropriate permissions.

Important Announcement:  For all Salesforce orgs that had the Lightning Permissions enabled for users - Salesforce had intended to turn on the Lightning Experience for all orgs within 48 hrs of the upcoming Winter release. However, that's been postponed. 

***“Turn on Lightning Experience” critical update will now activate within 72 hours of 01/07/20

3. Trust will show the winter release maintenance schedule for your instance. (https://status.salesforce.com/products/all). Search for and click on the Instance. Once on the particular instance page, click the maintenance tab to view your 

Winter '20 Major Release date.

Going to transition to Lightning and have a lot of Notes & Attachments? Well in Lightning, it's more about "Notes & FILES". 

 

Make sure to expand this post for suggestions and resources. 

 

So what do you do? 

 

1. Take the Trailhead Trail https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/modules/lightning-experience-productivity/work-with-notes-and-files

2. Check out the considerations for usage of note-taking tool 'Notes' and 'Files' functionality. https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000337292&language=en_US&type=1&mode=1

 

3. Instead of using Magic Mover...Make Notes & Attachments read only and leave as a Related List. Then, gradually move the items over to Notes and Files related list. Once everything is moved over, remove the Notes & Attachments Related List and fully transition to Notes & Files.
