Hey all, I land in Reno at 3:48 on Thursday and fly back Saturday at 12:11, anyone else landing or taking off around the same time?

I know that I totally left this for the last minute, but I'm looking at the weather and it's looking worse than it was, and I just found out that the car that I was going to be taking might not have chains. Would anyone be able to give me a ride up tomorrow from the Berkeley/East Bay area?
I'd be extremely grateful and could definitely chip in for gas.

Hi folks, I'll have an extra seat in my car. We are leaving San Francisco on Thursday around 2pm and returning Saturday evening.
I am guessing that they will open it back up soon. We made it through an hour ago and it wasn’t too bad at all. Hopefully it clears up soon and you will all make it tonight.

For those rolling up today... In the South Shore I have had about 6" fall on my deck since 4am this morning (currently 8am). I would not suggest the I80 over US50. Know that you have chains on both stretches of road. The 80 seems to bring out the worst in folks, good news though is that all trailered vehicles are being held at the bottom of the hill. Bad news..50 is closed for the moment at Echo Summit for avalanche control. It should open up throughout the day. You can expect chain controls from Kyburz or Pollock Pines to over the hill. If you do come up the 80, you'll need to go past Truckee to the Northstar exit (hwy 207) and go around the east shore of the lake, or goto Reno to the 580/395 down to Carson and up and over Spooner summit. If you do go the Nevada route CARRY CHAINS. If you get pulled over and do not have chains even if you do have 4wd/snow tires it is a HEFTY ticket..

We just arrived in South Lake and I have to tell you all, it is absolutely gorgeous up here right now. Bring a camera. There was some snow on the way up but CalTrans is doing a great job at keeping the roads plowed. I look forward to seeing you all up here.

Leaving tonight driving up Highway 80. I have extra spaces in my car and room to stay in my cabin in North Lake Tahoe. I'll be driving down to SLT via the east side of the lake on Friday morning. If anyone wants a ride up and a free place to stay, you're welcome to join.
