Admin Group, McLean, US

Welcome to the new Salesforce Community Group serving the Northern Virginia area! Community events and collaboration will be made up of members across McLean, Reston, and Tysons. We are an independent group sanctioned by salesforce.com and the Salesforce Foundation. With their support and local sponsors, we meet throughout the year and bring speakers to discuss a broad span of topics of interest using Salesforce. Experienced Customers and Consultants will offer advice in response to member questions in the community thread and events. If you have a suggestion for a future meeting topic, please feel free to share it with us for consideration.

Hi everyone,

Question for the group.   Can you make a draft of a list email that your team can also see and send for you?  Like if for some reason you are going to be out of the office and you want them to hit the send button for you?  I made a draft to test and so far no one on my team can see it.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Another question for the group.  We are going to utilize List Emails to send communications to large groups of our contacts.  I did a test and did not like how the "from" line presented as coming from Salesforce.  Does anyone know if there is a way to edit that to look like it's coming from you or your organization?  I've attached an email so you can see.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

Looking for a little assistance, as my company is brand new to Salesforce.  We are organizing our contacts by assigning them topics.  For example, John Doe may be a GM, and so we assigned him the topic GM.  We were under the impression we could go in and send an email or communication to all people using a certain topic.  Has anyone done that before?  Or any other advice?  Thank you!

Hi Mikey and Archana.  Thank you for your help!  We figured it out through filtering in the all contacts page, and then filtering for the topics we have assigned to our individual contacts.

BUT, if anyone has a better way let me know

Hi Everyone! Let me be your World Tour guide.

🌎 The Salesforce DC World Tour is just around the corner on April 10th! I’m excited to attend and learn about the latest innovations and hope to see you there.

🧭 Over the past 15 years, I’ve attended (and delivered) several World Tours as a customer, Salesforce employee, and partner. I know how overwhelming it can be to pick the best sessions and find your way around the venue, so I’m offering to be your tour guide and help you make the most of the event.

📅 I’ve set aside time on my calendar to answer your questions and plan a successful day with insider tips on choosing from close to 100 sessions, discovering the best ways to network, and identifying some top spots to escape the crowds around the convention center.

Hello all!  I wanted to provide an update on our next McLean Admin Group meeting.  We are targeting the next few weeks for a 10 Takeaways from Dreamforce 2023 meeting.  We will start with networking and have time at the end for open discussion as well.

Call to action: If anyone has a space in Tyson's/McLean that they would be willing to reserve for our group that would be much appreciated!  Please let me know in the comments below and we can coordinate.
