Sandbox Quick Cloning Pilot

Welcome to the Sandbox Quick Cloning Pilot! (formerly known as Lightning Developer Pro/Lightning Full Sandbox) Quick Cloning gives Salesforce Developers and Admins a new way to use sandboxes. When customizing and building applications in an org across a team of developers, you want a consistent environment for your work and testing. Two pilot sandbox types, Lightning Developer Pro and Lightning Full, help establish a “baseline” of customization you can clone over and over, so each developer has the same environment for their work. Or quickly spin up environments from a predetermined state for continuous integration jobs. Lightning Developer Pro and Lightning Full sandboxes are created in a Hyperforce data center hosted by AWS. The pilot will be initially available for Lightning Dev Pro only. Lightning Full sandbox licenses will be provided at a later date in the pilot. This pilot requires approval to participate. Please contact your AE to get nominated for the pilot.

For the last 2 weeks any developer sandbox we create via quick cloning gets stuck in Processing and never completes.  All other cloned sandboxes then get queued behind the stuck sandbox.  When support reset the stuck sandbox - the next sandbox in the queue gets stuck.  We also have no refresh link next to our source dev sandbox (the one we clone from) so cannot refresh that either.

Dev sanboxes that get stuck are being created on instance Hyperforce CHE2S.  We have two cases open for issues relating to this - #46653682 and #466889233

Can any of the salesforce product team in this group help? Our CI/CD pipeline is now stuck and we are getting no support.

Hello,  We are attempting to create a new sandbox "SFQAHF" of type "Lightning Full" and it shows 94 percent completion, but Status "Stopped". Please explain? I don't think I've seen that status before.  (I will leave the Instance Type as "Production" as that is where our view of the process is. And the sandbox is new and is still pending creation of an Org ID.)

@Rohit Mehta @Raj Advani Please help asap!  Best regards, Riya Patel

    Hello,

I think you need to log a case. We had the exactly same issue last year.

    Kind Regards,

hello.

I have a question.

I want to use my personal API in SFRA, but I don't know how to do it.

Help me.

Error message:Access to XMLHttpRequest at '~~MY API~~~' from origin 'https://zyac-123.sandbox.us01.dx.commercecloud.salesforce.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

CORS does not support requests for unauthenticated resources, including OAuth endpoints.

I recommend adding a blocked URL to SFDC’s CORS whitelist  If whitelisting does not help, you can try adding the header "Access-Control-Allow-Origin" to the request you forward to the salesforce

@Charles Troster We might need to delete the sandbox entirely and create a new dev from scratch. Can you please file a support ticket to get the LDP and the stuck Dev sandbox deleted?

@Osman Mazhar yes, you should be able to do that! Just a reminder that you can only Quick Clone an existing Lightning Dev Pro or Lightning Full Sandbox.

An example of how to create a Lightning Sandbox:

    sfdx force:org:create -t sandbox sandboxname=ldps0221 licensetype=ADVANCED_DEV -u prodOrg

The clone command then looks similar to cloning any other sandbox type:

    sfdx force:org:clone -t sandbox sandboxName=DevSbx1 sourceSandboxName=Sbx2Clone -u prodOrg -a MyDevSandbox

You can also use the sandbox definition json file to specify the sandbox name, source sandbox name and license type.

Hi @Rohit Mehta @Raj Advani, our lightning developer pro sandbox has been down for maintenance for over a week now. It's critically impacting our SDLC at this point.

Support has directed me to ask you for help. The Case number is 31816483.

@Leonardo Herrera if you can file a support case with your production org id and the name of the sandbox in question, we can help delete it fro our end!

I created the sandbox as lightning developer pro, but was unaware that this was part of a pilot. Do I have any way to get that work back?

Hi @Jackie Doan - unfortunately, since the last date of the pilot was yesterday, we have disabled the sandbox instance today and won't be able to provide you access.

📣 Reminder: Transition of the Lightning Developer Pro Sandbox Pilot to Hyperforce

This is a reminder of the initial announcement that the Lightning Developer Pro Sandbox pilot running in Salesforce data centers will end on December 13 and the pilot will transition to Hyperforce on the same day.

After December 13, 2021, all existing Lightning Developer Pro Sandboxes will be deleted, so it is important that customers back up any unsaved work in these sandboxes before that day. Only customers that have signed the pilot terms for Hyperforce will be able to create new Lightning Developer Pro Sandboxes.

Please contact your account team to enroll in the pilot on Hyperforce.

📣 An Important Announcement Regarding the Lightning Developer Pro Sandbox Pilot 📣

Thank you to all our customers who participated in the Lightning Developer Pro Sandbox pilot and provided feedback to improve the product. As we prepare the product for general availability, we will transition the pilot to Hyperforce, Salesforce’s next-generation infrastructure architecture deployed on Amazon’s AWS public cloud. The current pilot running on Salesforce data centers will end on December 13, 2021 and the pilot on Hyperforce will begin on the same day.

Why transition to Hyperforce?

With the elasticity of the public cloud, Salesforce can scale more quickly and deliver innovative features to its customers faster. On Hyperforce, developers will be more productive with Sandboxes that can be cloned within minutes and refreshed without time intervals. Over time, we will be able to launch even more ground-breaking features to improve the developer experience.

Do customers need to re-enroll into the pilot on Hyperforce?

Yes. Due to Hyperforce-specific pilot terms, customers will need to re-enroll into the pilot and sign the new pilot terms. Please contact your account team to continue in the pilot.

What happens to existing Lightning Developer Pro Sandboxes?

On December 13, 2021, all existing Lightning Developer Pro Sandboxes will be deleted, so it is important that customers back up any unsaved work in these sandboxes before that day. Starting December 13, 2021, only customers that have signed the pilot terms for Hyperforce will be able to create new Lightning Developer Pro Sandboxes.
