Hi all,
When including fields as a text mark it appears fonts are formatted more boldly in the pane than the header despite having the exact same formatting (font, weight, color, size, etc.) applied. I am currently using Tableau 2019.1 but noticed it in 10.5.1 as well before I upgraded.
Please see screenshot below, with the font I'm trying to use on the left (League Gothic) and Arial as a standard on the right. Both are using a calculated field ("Button Text" , which is just a string of "GO TO SHEET 2" and mirrors what I'm using in development as a filter to move between dashboards):
While minor, the brand guidelines I am designing under use 18pt League Gothic for many titles and this issue is making legibility fairly more difficult especially when we have color coded number text. Does anyone have any insight to the issue? Searched around as best I could but couldn't find anything on this specifically. I'm not even 100% sure it's something in Tableau that's making this happen, but I'm pretty confident since the issue is occurring throughout my Workbook whenever a field is placed as a text mark.

This seems very weird (but Tableau itself is weird with custom fonts).
My advise is to try this:
Go to Format > Workbook menu
In the left pane set all fonts to the size and color you need. I did it with my custom font Gotham 18px and full black.
Then ensure that the font in the text label is also Gotham 18px and full black.
I hope then the font matches on both header and text. At least I think it matches on mine:
Then once you are ok with the shape/color/format you can do specific/local configurations in each sheet you edit.
