How to import a raster/image (.tif) file into Tableau?

I am working on a spatial project using Tableau where I need to import a raster file (image in .tif format) and then overlay it with a world map.

 

Is it something possible on Tableau? I am struggling to import .tif files on Tableau desktop.

    Hi Laura,

    Once you have a data source open, click on the Map -> Background Images -> {your data source}. Then Add Image and Browse for your file. There you can select a TIFF file for import.
