Hello Tableau Public,
I am new to Tableau. I require to make US map data visualization. With my efforts and research, I succeed in making the visualization like below.
The problem in this is , I do not have interactive legends and also I do not have a way to crop Alaska , Hawaii and other territories like below. See the below US maps visualize by different University staff. They made this through Tableau. I am using Tableau public and I am not able to create legend (index) and also separate Alaska and other territories like below and save in single sheet or image. Please help.
Thanks,
Sajjan
Hi Sajjan,
You could use a hex-map layout instead or if Alaska does not have data in your data set then you can hide that from your map. In terms of the coloring, you are using a measure value gradient. What you need to do is create bins then color on those bins to get the same effect as your example. Once you have that, you can have the legend show like your example as well. You can get really close to your example, but unless you are exporting a mapping tool, I don't think the standard Tableau geo charts look like your example.
Hope that helps!
