Hi there - I've got a dashboard for a sales organization that shows a stacked bar chart for open/won deal totals (USD), by GEO. The data comes directly from Salesforce, but what I'd like to add is a reference line showing the target/plan figures for each GEO and the total. Those figures are in an Excel file and I'm struggling to find a way to get a reference line to be based on data from an external file.
The bar chart uses a filter on a close date field to show only deals with a close date in the current quarter (ex: 7/1/2019 to 9/30/2019). The plan figures are shown by month, by GEO. In the image below, imagine plan was $2.3m for AMER: I'd like a bar above that column showing that there's a gap to plan and, ideally, be able to show the dollar value of the gap.
Does anyone have a tip on how I can make this happen? Many thanks in advance!
It depends on the graph format you have now ..... you can easily add another data source in Tableau, then blend that with the SF data (assuming you have a common field (GEO and YEAR) to blend on.
Getting the data on the graph might be harder. The easy way is to create a dual axis graph, but I've got a funny feeling you've already created a dual axis graph.
You could possibly add the data as a reference line, again this would depend on data format etc.
Can you attach some dummy data and hopefully a workbook that uses the dummy data so people can play around to get a solution please ?
