I'm finding conflicting information. I have found posts from 12/2018 - 2/2019 that say you can use Google. I also have a course instructor for the DS exam saying yes you can use. Yet I have several colleagues that recently took DS / QA and reported back that using Google was no longer allowed. Can someone clarify? Thanks!

I confirmed with Anna Dolezilek and you're right, you can use Google.
Anna is going to look at the FAQs as the wording in that section may need to be revised to make this more clear.
