How to convert String into Date in Custom SQL with Excel Data set

Hi Team,

I am facing problem while creating custom SQL. I want to convert string column in date which is in excel.

E.g.

Select DATE(

(RIGHT([Data_EMP$].[Period]),2))

+'/01/'+

(LEFT([Data_EMP$].[Period]),4)

) AS [PERIOD]

FROM [Data_EMP$]

This is not working. Please help me in DATE Function or need any other function..
