I'm using the Query Data Sources method in version 3.9. I'm trying to filter the data source on the name field. My name field has a space, so I'm using a + to represent the space like the API Reference guide suggests. This worked for me in previous versions of Tableau Server, but now it's not returning the data source.

Here is my statement (which returns no data sources):

GET <my server>/api/3.9/sites/4f849c45-bf68-4811-ac6b-2071983b2aa8/datasources?filter=name:eq:esign+utilization

If I leave the filter out, I can see the data source as one in the list returned in the response body, so I can confirm that it's there.

<datasource contentUrl="esignutilization" createdAt="2019-08-06T16:57:01Z" encryptExtracts="false" id="67625f88-84f4-4af1-9f28-c70c103cf8cf" isCertified="false" name="esign utilization" type="mysql" updatedAt="2020-10-15T21:20:46Z" useRemoteQueryAgent="false" webpageUrl="http://vmkip-kubqgi48/#/site/BI/datasources/2861">

      <project id="70dfa228-fc9a-4b5e-9868-e20fde394913" name="Employee Data"/>

      <owner id="035c8f20-8d33-4e72-9bf9-a7fdad6589a6"/>

      <tags/>

    </datasource>

Is anyone else successfully filtering on something that includes a space?

Thanks for any help!

    Many thanks for the speedy response, Keshia! It turns out leaving the space does work. I also found that using %20 in place of the space works, which is a better fit for my solution.

    If you have any input into documentation changes, I'd suggest updating this page: https://help.tableau.com/current/api/rest_api/en-us/REST/rest_api_concepts_filtering_and_sorting.htm

    Search for "Values should be URL-encoded. For example, to search for the workbook named Project Views, include a filter like filter=name:eq:Project+Views"

    I really appreciate your help! Thank you!
