A rare case that I got a prediction of the future right - Business Analysis is the #1 skill for the agentic world.  That was back in July 2023.   But it is proving to be true.

What is different since I wrote this post?

We can now automatically document the business processes based on org config.

AI can look at the diagrams and identify agent use cases, work out what type of agent.  - “Yes, there is more than one type”

It can write a business requirement and the % certainty.

But then it can take those requirements and draw an Agent Instruction Diagram

This can build the agent.

Org -> Process -> Agent is less than an hour.

But NONE of this is possible without the BA involved in every step; validating, refining, and adding at each step.

BTW I’ve been saying BA was important since 1986. I was bound to be right eventually.

That was when I mapped my first process, which was an ERP system for BAE Systems, when working for Accenture.
