Flow Decision for New or Updated Records

Hello, 

I am building a record triggered flow that will either create or update an event based on whether the triggering record is new or existing.  I was hoping to do this in a single flow based on a decision: 

New Record - Events Created

Existing Record - Date field updated in the Triggering record - events updated

Is there a way to identify this with a decision in the flow to determine the path to either update/create the event record?  Thank you!
