I have a high-level, Marketing Cloud question: 

What is the most common way to get contacts into a data extension? Does it require a manual push from your entire contact database into said data extension?

For example, I'm creating two language-based data extensions. I want speakers of language A to populate in data extension A, and the same for language B and data extension B. 

How would this typically be accomplished?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
