I have Two fields on opportunity Close date and Stage(required fields). I want to set the default value for these fields.
I Just reviewed this in a personal org, I see what we did differently to make this work, we did not use the default 'New' opportunity button from the list view. The issue is that the actual input field on your UI is required and cannot be removed, so this stops you from submitting an opportunity without a stage selected, and it never reaches the workflow/record-triggered flow to set the value. You can accomplish a workaround if you use a screen flow for the users to create opportunities instead, and when the flow creates the opportunity, specify the default values you want in the flow itself.
