So we are currently wrapping up the implementation of Salesforce CPQ when my boss asked for a proposal element (20+ pages of fields/information to a pdf) to be included, aside from the quote. I thought the best course of action would be to use the objects already in place and build it into the quote object so that I can use the CPQ PDF templates and PDF generator.
Basically, I created two record types, with two different layouts, and a workflow rule to change the record type when the quote status = "approved". It then dispays the appropriate fields to generate a proposal pdf instead of the quote pdf. In the pdf generator, you can select either template.
However, my boss is looking for a proposal "wizard". Basically he wants to be able to check/uncheck a box to include/exclude different sections/pages in the proposal. I can make a check box in Salesforce the clears/populates the field values. But that leaves the question of the surrounding html/css code in the content object/pdf.
Is it possible to make it so that if the API values on the pdf page are all return null values, that the surrounding HTML code becomes inactive between the page breaks(including a page break)? Effectively removing the page? Or do I need to find another solution? Does anyone know of another solution that works this way or the most effective method to create this?
Thanks,
Logan
