Hi all, hoping I can get some better action here than I'm finding over on the Box hosted community....

I am playing with the integration in my SB. We have a Box account already, so have a current file structure.

Box Support have advised that using native functionailty I will indeed have to create an entirly new folder structure. Root folder > (Object) > Folder 1a > Files, etc. My users will then need to go and move the existing files out of their current place and into the newly created folder (on the Account, as I have it planned now).

Anyone integrate after having an existing Box account? And is this what they did? Or am I able to have the Box Related List on each record call on the existing Box code ID, to show the files where they already are?

Any feedback welcome, I'd prefer not to recreate the file structure in Box, in order for my staff to be able to access their files through SF.

Box support is correct. When you define your Box to Salesforce connection, you define the root Box folder (called whatever you want).  Then, from SForce, when a record is accessed and a Box folder is created, it is created under that root.

    Root

         Accounts

               JMay Inc

         Contacts

                Jeff May

         Opportunities

                New Business

         etc

Any Folder created from SForce into Box is available to SForce user from the SForce record detail page, and also to Box users using the Box UI to navigate into the folder.  And any files in these folders are visible (based on security) to users from the Box UI or from SForce.

Any other folder in Box is available to Box users via the Box UI, but not from within SForce.

You could decide to create Box shortcut links in the SForce-created folder structure to jump users to the pre-existing folders.
