Hi all,

We are currently facing a bit of a challenge with one of our scenarios, and I wanted to see if anybody has done anything similar that they would be happy to share.

The scenario relates to recording a ‘Total Fundraising Income’ on the Campaign Member record. Ideally this is a field that calculates the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ credits for the particular Individual for that particular campaign.

Example

Bob Smith is a campaign member of 2 campaigns, and has hard credits/soft credits for both:

Campaign A: Hard credit: £10, Soft credit: £25

Campaign B: No Hard credit, Soft credit: £40

We’re looking for a solution where on Bob Smith’s Campaign Membership record for Campaign A – the total would be £35, and for Campaign B the total would be £40. (the total on the individual record would be £10 + £65 = £75)

Is there anybody who has done something similar? I would assume this is a fairly standard scenario for charities / nonprofits, so any thoughts/opinions/ideas on how to achieve this will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you add fields to the campaign member object, they already are only for that specific person for that specific campaign.

Campaign Member combines the campaign, a contact/lead, a status and any other fields.

The trick would be pulling in opportunity totals. I'm not exactly sure what you're going for, but it sounds like you're saying that you want a total value of opportunities that the contact (or are you talking about a person account) is listed as a contact role for. Is that the scenario? If so, you can't use a standard lookup because it's not a master:child, but you could use something like Lookup Helper I think to create a custom rollup totaling the values on the Contact. And if you could get it on the Contact, you could pull it in via a formula onto the campaign member.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the nonprofit scene, so maybe I'm missing something with your scenario. I think I understand what you're looking for except for the opportunity total.

If you were to add the fields to the campaign member object, it would look like this:

And allow you to run reports like this:

You could also run the report grouped by contact and show all the campaigns he'd been in. The hard and soft credit fields would be specific to each campaign.

If you provide more info about where opportunities come in, I'll do my best to help.
