I am looking for guidance on the best practices/options for deduping lead data before importing on a campaign. Our issue is that many of the leads are already existing customers and it takes the sales team time to review and triage these leads.
A little background, we get scanned attendee lists from tradeshows/conferences and have the Marketing team clean and normalize the data. This is now a refined list of leads that would like to be associated to a campaign. I need to understand best practice on taking this refined list and cross checking against our existing contact and lead database so that if it already exists, I can pull the existing record in as a campaign member instead of creating a new one.
We now have a Cloudingo license and playing around with that to see if it can assist in this cleaning process prior to importing.
Thanks!
Jeff

Hi Jeff, we use DemandTools (https://www.validity.com/demandtools/) to identify existing contacts/leads for all of our mass imports. We use their Find/Report IDs tool and usually match against all email fields, but you can also match on name or other criteria if you want to be extra thorough. I haven't used Cloudingo, but it sounds like it has similar functionality.
