I need to allow acces to oppty object / read only fields for specific standard users. We have the oppty org wide defaults to Private so unless sharing rules are set only the owner sees his oppties.
As suggested by the community I want to create a permission set that will only allow these users to edit these fields.
What I did so far, but it isn't working;
Created a New Permission Set for Salesforce user license.
In Apps / Object Setting / Opportunities, I edited to:
Object Permissions to read
Field Permissions I checked off the appropriate fileds to Read and Edit
I assigned the Permission Set to the proper users.
Issues:
Users cannot view all opportunities and they cannot edit on the ones they own.

Can you explain your requirement in more detail.
Object Permissions to read - You dont want users to whom you have assigned permission set to edit opportunity at Object level ?
