Does anyone else experience dupes that interfere with Account Type accuracy? How do you handle those? (For Example, if a "Prospect" record shares the same company name (as a Customer), but is at a different location - what do you call the Prospect?

Customer Prospect?

Customer Relative?

Customer Branch?

any suggestions that others have used successfully in the past?

thanks.

To avoid confusion we treat all Companies as a single Account entity in Salesforce, and keep the strongest relationship.

So if there are accounts for:

    Acme Widget - Client

    Acme Widget - Prospect

    Acme Widget - Partner

    Acme Widget - Competitor

we would merge them into 1 account for Acme Widget - Client, because we want ALL users to be aware that this company is a Client.

We have relationships that we have created that would identify that while Acme Widget is a Client they have also been a competitor on Opportunities with other Clients/Prospects
